Slowly I've been working on the next generation (version 2.0) of BeeLineGPS. This version will drop support for WM - 2003 to support the newer OS's from WM 5, 6.1 and 6.5. The major addition will be the use of the Microsoft GPS API. BeeLineGPS will still have the ability to connect to a GPS through a serial port, but will default to the GPS API.
Also, it seems that there are more devices that have a larger screen with increased DPI. These device have been dropping hard buttons from the device such as the joystick thus defeating the BeeLineGPS capability to zoom-in and out for the map and analysis plot. I'll be adding soft button menus and or on screen buttons to support these devices.
Another feature I'll be adding is support for Google Maps. Although it's not added as of yet, the software will export the waypoints visible on the screen to a KML file and run the associated program for the .KML file. This is usually Google Maps.
Other modifications are adding better support for soft keys, newer OS features and other requests from users. We have dropped the automatic search for the GPS through the serial port. Since the GPS API has better support for the GPS, the serial NMEA connection will now only be secondary.
